Luke

So...yesterday, Courtlyn got into the van after school and made this statement (and I quote), "Mommy, I am not going to be able to read any more Bible stories out of the Book of Luke...ever, ever again."  I thought this was strange, so I asked, "Why?".  She replied (and I quote, again!), "Well, I am the caboose at school for the week, and Luke is the second to the caboose, meaning he's right in front of me. (Thanks, Court, I got that.)  Anyway, she continued, "And he looked at me today and asked if I wanted his PHONE NUMBER."  I then asked her what she said.  Her reply, "I said, NO WAY!!!".  (That's my girl!)  She proceeded to tell me that she found him, and his question, to be "very creepy".

So...TODAY, Courtlyn gets into the van and says, "Mommy, I can't believe it.  Luke came up to me at the end of the day and handed me a piece of paper...with his PHONE NUMBER on it."  I asked her what she did next and she said "I threw that paper into the trash can right away."

Awww......poor Luke:(  *Side note: I did mention that she should be nice and not hurt his feelings.)
Yay......strong, independent, wise Courtlyn!!!

A few observations:
  • This is Kindergarten, right?  Wow. "Mack Daddy's" start young!
  • Let's see what she does with Luke's phone number when she's 16.  (And, yes, I said 16....not 13, not 12, not 11.....you see where I'm going with this, right???)
