Tooth Fairy Welcome!!!

It.Has.Happened!!!
Courtlyn Riley Gould has lost her FIRST TOOTH!!!

This has been a very exciting several days in our home.

Here's the story....poor Courtlyn was starting to feel like she was "THE ONLY" child on the face of the planet that had not lost a tooth.  (Seriously, it was THAT dramatic!)  So...I occasionally would check her teeth, at her request, and up until last Saturday...nothing.

THEN IT HAPPENED....we were at a friend's birthday party and our little princess kept complaining about how much her mouth hurt.  So, I called her over and took ANOTHER look...and to my great surprise...not only was one of her bottom front teeth completely loose...her two adult teeth were growing in behind the baby ones.  WOW.  We were all so excited!!!

Hence...the wiggling began...and yesterday, when no one thought they could stand another second of NOT losing a tooth, it happened.  Courtlyn was upstairs with me and had just said how much her tooth hurt, when all of a sudden...it was in her hand!!!  Pure joy was experienced by all!!! Seriously, it was a milestone.

She was so excited and could not wait to put it under her pillow so the Tooth Fairy could visit.  Of course, she wanted me to tell the Tooth Fairy that she did not want her to TAKE the tooth, just leave the money...haha!

And, this morning, we all awoke to find that the very magical Tooth Fairy had visited last night and left her incredibly sought after money treat!

cutest tooth ever!!!

Our little girl is growing up so fast.  I just want to cherish every moment (even the tiring and frustrating ones) because before we know it...she will have ALL her grown up teeth and she'll be driving herself to work and hopefully making a beautiful contribution to our world.  Courtlyn, we are so proud of you and are so excited to celebrate this great milestone of losing your very first tooth.  We love you, sweet girl.

Luke

So...yesterday, Courtlyn got into the van after school and made this statement (and I quote), "Mommy, I am not going to be able to read any more Bible stories out of the Book of Luke...ever, ever again."  I thought this was strange, so I asked, "Why?".  She replied (and I quote, again!), "Well, I am the caboose at school for the week, and Luke is the second to the caboose, meaning he's right in front of me. (Thanks, Court, I got that.)  Anyway, she continued, "And he looked at me today and asked if I wanted his PHONE NUMBER."  I then asked her what she said.  Her reply, "I said, NO WAY!!!".  (That's my girl!)  She proceeded to tell me that she found him, and his question, to be "very creepy".

So...TODAY, Courtlyn gets into the van and says, "Mommy, I can't believe it.  Luke came up to me at the end of the day and handed me a piece of paper...with his PHONE NUMBER on it."  I asked her what she did next and she said "I threw that paper into the trash can right away."

Awww......poor Luke:(  *Side note: I did mention that she should be nice and not hurt his feelings.)
Yay......strong, independent, wise Courtlyn!!!

A few observations:
  • This is Kindergarten, right?  Wow. "Mack Daddy's" start young!
  • Let's see what she does with Luke's phone number when she's 16.  (And, yes, I said 16....not 13, not 12, not 11.....you see where I'm going with this, right???)
